Writers’ Submission Guidelines

Rostrum Magazine publishes opinion pieces, features, travel experience, satire, art reviews and articles on international issues. We want to go beyond shallow coverage of topics in the daily news – we want original ideas, new themes and analysis. Articles must feature thorough research, tight focus and should have multiple sources. We are published by students, but we want to look beyond campus and typical student issues. Articles are usually between 700-1,000 words, but we will publish longer articles if they are of high quality.

If your article is accepted, expect a long, in-depth and interactive editing process. We go beyond grammar and spelling to examine the structure and content of the articles. Your article will go back and forth several times, and go through several drafts before publication. Even the best writers need help from editors.
